Into Being / התהוות
התהוות היא עבודת וידאו ארט המבקשת לגעת ברגע בראשיתי של התהוות — במרחב שבין אור לחושך, שבו צורות מתחילות להופיע, להתגלות ולהיעלם, עוד לפני שהחיים לובשים את הצורות המוכרות לנו
יצרתי את העבודה בזמן שבתי הבכורה עוד הייתה ברחם. באותה תקופה היינו הולכים לעיתים קרובות לבדיקות אולטרסאונד, ומתבוננים בדימויים בשחור־לבן הנעים על המסך. היה בדימויים האלה משהו מסתורי: חיים ההולכים ונוצרים, עדיין חבויים בחלקם, נגלים מבעד לאור ולחושך המשתנים. החוויה הזאת נשזרה בעבודה, אף שהדימויים שבה חורגים מהאישי ונוגעים במשהו קדום וראשוני יותר
את הווידאו יצרתי באמצעות צילום דרך פסל שבניתי ממראות שבורות. ההשתקפויות מפרקות את הדימוי ומשכפלות אותו, ומאפשרות לצורות חמקמקות להופיע מבלי להתגבש לכדי צורה קבועה. הווידאו מסתובב באיטיות וברציפות בלופ, בליווי סאונד היקפי
בתצוגה מוקרנת העבודה בחלל חשוך לחלוטין, על גבי משטח תלת־ממדי, המעניק לדימוי תחושה של עומק ונפח. הצופים יכולים לשבת או לשכב על כריות גדולות ולהתמסר לחוויה של אור, חושך וקול
במקום להציג דימוי מוגדר של חיים, התהוות מזמינה את הצופה להיכנס אל מרחב של אפשרויות — לחוש שהוא נוכח בראשיתו של משהו, ברגע שבו החיים עדיין לא קיבלו את צורתם המלאה, והכול עודנו בתהליך של התהוות

Into Being is a video work exploring a primordial moment of becoming — a space between light and darkness, in which forms begin to emerge, appear and disappear, before life takes on the shapes we recognize.
I created the work while my first daughter was still in the womb. During that time, we often went to ultrasound appointments, watching the black-and-white images move on the screen. There was something mysterious about those images: a life taking shape, still partly hidden, visible through shifting light and darkness. This experience became intertwined with the work, although its imagery reaches beyond the personal, toward something more ancient and elemental.
The video was created by filming through a sculpture I made from broken mirrors. The reflections fragment and multiply the image, allowing fleeting forms to emerge without ever becoming entirely fixed. The video rotates slowly and continuously in a loop, accompanied by surround sound.
When exhibited, the work is projected in a completely dark room, on a 3D surface, giving the image a sense of depth and volume. Viewers can sit or lie on large pillows and surrender to the experience of light, darkness and sound.
Rather than presenting a defined image of life, Into Being invites the viewer into a space of possibility — a feeling of being present at the beginning of something, when life is not yet fully formed and everything is still in the process of becoming.
